The availability of Indian cricket star Shreyas Iyer for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) is still uncertain.
Iyer, who is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, withdrew from the fourth Test against Australia due to a back injury and has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series.
According to recent updates on his injury, Iyer will have to wait for 10 days to determine his fitness level for the IPL.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet issued an official statement on Iyer's situation.
Recently, a scan report of his back showed negative results, and he has been advised to rest and undergo rehab by a specialist doctor.
In case Iyer is unable to play, KKR will need to consider other captaincy options such as Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, or Nitish Rana.
The IPL is scheduled to begin on March 31, with KKR playing their first match against Punjab Kings on April 1.
