Ranbir Kapoor has expressed his desire to replicate the character Mickey from the upcoming film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar in real life.
He said this in a promotional event for the Luv Ranjan-directed rom-com.
The actor, who is paired with Shraddha Kapoor in the film, said that he instinctively knew the idea was something new and that he had never played a character like Mickey before.
He also explained that the character's value system, especially his approach towards family and life, resonated with him.
Kapoor, who had previously been typecast in the rom-com genre, said that he had already retired from it, but the idea of TJMM enticed him back.
Director Luv Ranjan had previously wanted to collaborate with Kapoor on a gangster action film that never worked out, and when they discussed TJMM, Kapoor was intrigued.
The film, which also features an ensemble cast including Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, and comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi, is scheduled for release on March 8.
