Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt release in India stalled indefinitely

The Legend of Maula Jatt did get approval from India’s censor board but screening has been postponed.

Sources close to filmmakers have confirmed the news.

This would have been the first Pakistan film in India in more than 10 years.

The film has so far grossed more than $10m at the box office worldwide.

Distributors are trying to seek a new release date.

Zee Studio has the rights to the movie in India but it has not commented on this topic.

The deadly attack on Indian soldiers in 2019 by Pakistani ones worsened the historical rivalry between the two nations.

Various far-right, Hindu groups have claimed they will revolt if the film is released in India.

The film stars Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan in lead roles and is directed by Bilal Lashari.
