Union Min for Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur on Saturday, commenting on Ramiz Raja statement on who'll watch World Cup if Pakistan does not attend said, "Wait for the right time. India is a major power in the world of sports & no country can overlook India."

Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja on November 26 said that if India won’t go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, then Pakistan will also not play in ICC ODI World Cup in India.

This is after on November 25, India's secretary, Board of Control for Cricket, Jay Shah confirmed that Team India won't be touring Pakistan.

Raja said PCB stands firm on their stance.

He said, "Who'll watch WC in IND if PAK don't take part?'.”

After 2009, Pakistan is holding the Asia Cup for the second time.

However, international cricket has returned to Pakistan but teams fear going there because of a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team, outside the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, in 2009.

Pakistan is known for being a safe haven for terrorism and related activities.

Global watchdog, Financial Action Task Force listed Pakistan in their grey list for funding terror operations.

The country has been frequently accused of sponsoring terrorism by various countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, United States and others.

Former PM of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif in 2018 suggested that the Pakistani government played a role in the 2008 Mumbai attacks carried out by terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
