Justice Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud is the 50th Chief Justice Of India (CJI)

His father YV Chandrachud was the longest-serving CJI (1978-1985)

Born in Mumbai in 1959, Justice Chandrachud was elevated to Supreme Court in May, 2016

He was designated a senior advocate by Bombay High Court 1998 & additional solicitor general the same year

Justice Chandrachud also served as chief justice of Allahabad High Court

In SC, he has been part of many Constitution benches & landmark verdicts, including Ayodhya dispute, right to privacy & adultery
