The Income Tax Department has launched a new mobile app called AIS for Taxpayer, which allows taxpayers to access their tax-related information in the Annual Information Statement or Taxpayer Information Summary.
This is particularly useful as starting from the new financial year on April 1, Form 26AS will only display data related to tax deducted at source and tax collection at source, and other details will need to be accessed through the AIS.
The AIS is aimed at making tax compliance easier for individual taxpayers and promoting voluntary compliance.

The new AIS app is available to download for free on Google Play or the App Store, and users need to register and authenticate their identity through their PAN number, mobile number, and email.
However, there have been some issues reported with users not receiving the OTP for authentication or being unable to log in to the app.
