The Indian Space Research Organisation launched the LVM 3-M3/One web India-2 Mission from the second launch pad at the Sathish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
This mission is the second for the One Web Group from the UK, which is collaborating with New Space India Limited on a commercial venture to launch 72 satellites into low earth orbits.
The first set of 36 satellites was launched on October 23rd of last year.
The LVM 3 rocket will place 36 satellites, weighing a total of approximately 5,805 kilograms, into a circular orbit of 450 km with an inclination of 87.4 degrees.
This will be the sixth flight of the LVM 3 rocket, which has previously had five successful missions, including the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
ISRO's commercial ventures have been successful, making India a global hub for affordable satellite launches.
Under India's G20 Presidency, ISRO will hold the 4th Space Economy Leaders Meeting in Shillong and Bengaluru on April 17th and 18th.
The event will focus on space economy, policy, and new space, and G20 Ambassadors will participate in a precursor event.
The Space Economy Leaders Meet will take place on July 6th and 7th in Bengaluru, where the heads of space agencies and G20 space industries will build on the recommendations from previous G20 meetings.
