In a public meeting on November 11, where CM Jagan Reddy met PM Modi, the Andhra Pradesh CM asked Modi about the status of special status category being given to AP, according to TeluguStop.

A public meeting was organised at AU Grounds in Visakhapatnam.

Reddy appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on special status and said their relationship is “beyond politics”.

He indicated in his speech that “the biggest injury” to the state of Andhra Pradesh was due to the partition 8 years ago.

Reddy expressed his concern that the wound has not yet healed.

He said that every aid Centre gives to the state, every rupee given will contribute to the building of Andhra Pradesh.

On 20 February 2014, on the AP Reorganisation Act, then PM Manmohan Singh had said that SCS would be "extended to the successor State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of five years."
