Bheed film review

Gray Frame Corner

Bheed is a movie by Anubhav Sinha that tries to address India's socio-political issues.

The film is shot in the style of a documentary and features a cast of characters who are dealing with various issues like caste, class, money, privilege, and the failure of the system, all taking place in the background of a blocked checkpoint during the first lockdown.

However, the movie falls flat due to the weight of too many half-baked stories and characters sequenced into a linear plot.

While it establishes the confusion witnessed during the lockdown well, it forgets the nuances of the characters.

The heavy reliance on loud dialogues, commentaries that do not add much value, and too many people talking too much also detract from the movie's message.

The film is a brave attempt but is too loud on commentary and low on substance.
