Air India Express Abu Dhabi-Calicut flight catches fire mid-air, makes emergency landing

Flames started coming out of the engine during take-off.

The flight returned to the Abu Dhabi airport.

All of the passengers arrived safely and without incident.

184 passengers were present when the aeroplane took off.

“Air India Express B737-800 aircraft VT-AYC operating flight IX 348 was involved in Airturnback due to the No. 1 engine flameout at 1,000 ft during the climb," DGCA said.
