Udham Singh became the immortal figure of the Indian Independence Movement and was referred as Shaheed-i-Azam Sardar Udham Singh

Udham  considered Bhagat Singh his 'guru' and followed his teachings until the end

After killing M.O'Dwyer, Udham Singh adopted the name Ram Mohammad Singh Azad, representing the unity of three major religions in India

While awaiting his trial, Singh went on a 42-day hunger strike and had to be forcibly fed. Singh was hanged at Pentonville Prison on 31 July 1940

His mortal remains were handed over to India in 1974 and are kept at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar.
