KASARGOD, KERALA: In a shocking video that surfaced from Kanhangad, a group of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) activists were raising provocative and life-threatening slogans referring to the Hindu community during a rally conducted to offer support for the people of Manipur.
The IUML workers were heard chanting, “You won’t be able to chant Ramayana, we will hang you inside the temples and burn you alive”.
The rally was inaugurated by IUML national secretary Faizal Babu at Kanhangad. The slogans were repeated thrice in broad daylight, where more than hundreds of women and children were present.

A case has been registered against 300 IUML activists for making provocative statements that can lead to communal violence by the Hosdurg police following a complaint filed by BJP district Mandal president Prashant.
The case was registered under Section 153A of the IPC for trying to create a rift between communities and also for gathering at a public place to create violence.
The sloganeering has called for widespread anger and protest in the state, with the video of the sloganeering going viral on all social media platforms.

The Muslim League, as part of a damage control effort, has decided to dismiss a senior leader named Abdul Salam, who is also a member of the Kanhangad municipality.
Meanwhile, the party said that the member who incorrectly prepared the slogan and later made provocative slogans has been dismissed from the party.
Hindu Aikya Vedi district secretary SP Shaji stated that the video has sent shockwaves and has demanded stringent action against the organisers and the person who was leading the protest and the one who was reading the slogan that was recited by others who were seen marching forward.

“This is not the first time such sloganeering has been heard in Kerala. Earlier, we saw the same slogans being raised at Alappuzha, where a young boy was made to raise such provocative slogans”, he said.
It was four days ago that Kerala assembly speaker AN Shamseer made a controversial comment on Lord Ganesha and Hindu mythology that landed in a major soup.
