As soon as PM Modi arrived, Trump greeted him with a warm hug, underscoring their close friendship. The US President also expressed his appreciation by saying, โWe missed you,โ reflecting the strong ties they share.
In a particularly meaningful gesture, Trump presented his book, Our Journey Together, to PM Modi. The book contained a personalized note that read, โMr. Prime Minister, You Are Great,โ showcasing Trumpโs deep respect for the Indian leader.
Further highlighting their bond, Trump personally pulled out a chair for Modi, an act symbolizing their strong mutual admiration and friendship. โHe is doing really a great job in India. Everybody talks about him. Heโs doing a really fantastic job. Heโs a great leader,โ Trump said about Modi. He also said he was thrilled to welcome โmy friendโ Modi and called the PM a โspecial manโ. Trump went on to say that PM Modi has been a friend for a long time. โHe is a much tougher negotiator than me, and he is a much better negotiator than me. There is not even a contest,โ Trump said.
Both leaders shared a great relationship even during Trumpโs first term as the President of the United States.
