NEW DELHI: Minister of women and child development of India, Smriti Irani lashed out at the Punjab Government of congress for the major lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She held a press conference and said that โNever before in the history of our country were police functionaries in a state directed and convenienced to breach the security of a Prime Minister and bring him harmโ.

PM Narendra Modi, who had landed in Bathinda early this morning, could not address the public rally at Ferozepur, following a security breach that took place after he was held up on the road stretch for 15 minutes.
Sudhanshu Trivedi, MP Rajya Sabha who was also in the press conference said that โToday such an incident has happened, which is unprecedented in the history of India. In the era of terrorism and even in the areas affected by terrorism, there was no such type of security lapse, as happened with the security of the Prime Minister today.โ

Prime Minister was scheduled to lay foundation stones of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 42,750 crore that include Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, four landing of Amritsar-Una section, PGI satellite centre at Ferozepur and two medical colleges at Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur.
