If Partha (Chatterjee) is a thief, the law will judge him. Partha, Bobby (Firad Hakim), Anubrata (Mondal), and we all are thieves and they (the Bharatiya Janata Party) are saints, said Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee as she lashed out at the ruling party at the Centre on Monday. She was speaking at a function to mark the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Foundation Day near Gandhi Murti on Mayo Road.
Banerjee said, “You (the BJP) are sending the ED (Enforcement Directorate) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). What is the plan? Arrest all: Abhishek (Banerjee), Chandrima (Bhattacharya), Bobby, and even me…Will you be able to win then?”
Taking her diatribe to a new pitch, Banerjee said, “(Earlier) they (the BJP) had sent notices to Abhishek and his wife. Maybe, they will send notice to Abhishek’s two-year-old child too…”
Maintaining her soft stand on Anubrata unlike Partha, the TMC supremo said, “They (the BJP) have also arrested a ‘kajer cheke‘ (a man who delivers and is important) like Keshto (as Anubrata is endearingly called).”
“If Partha is at fault, they will drag me; if the weather is bad, then they will drag (blame) me? The CPM looted the state for 34 years and the BJP levies GST even on dead bodies. How much money did you spend to break the Maharashtra government?” Banerjee asked, raising her vitriol.
The chief minister said, “We respect those who work with the honest but we also know cases of corruption by the CBI, ED, and the Border Security Force (BSF).”
Banerjee also raised the issue of money yet to be released by the Central Government for the MGNREG scheme which the TMC MPs have appealed for. During her latest visit to the national capital, Banerjee is said to have raised this issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
