“The son of a gynaecologist and a senior student at Nedumangad government hospital is implicated in Sidharthan’s death. A student named Akshay also played a role in his death. Akshay’s father is a politician and a plantation owner. Akshay should be included in the list of suspects. Akshay is not a witness but a suspect. This is quite evident,” said Jayaprakash, father of JS Sidharthan.
“A murder case should be filed against the Dean and the Assistant Warden. Suspension is not enough; they should be dismissed from service, and the case should be thoroughly investigated. Since 2019, there have been numerous suicides at the college. All of them should be investigated before allowing the college to operate,” Jayaprakash added.
Jayaprakash further added that as per the postmortem report, his son’s body had injuries and an empty stomach, indicating that he was brutally beaten up and not given any food. The police had arrested all 18 accused in the case about Sidharthan.

An interim report released by the anti-ragging squad sheds more light on the brutal torture faced by Sidharthan JS. According to information provided by Sidharthan’s college mates, he was brutally beaten by students from different batches accusing him of misbehaving with a girl from his batch.
“He was brutally beaten up with a belt, cable wire, and chappal. He was punched, kicked, and then dragged on the floor in front of everyone, and the people who were beating him were not ready to stop even after students tried to stop them,” the report says while quoting a student. The victim was withdrawn from the peer group and suffered both physical and mental trauma, the report said.
