George Kuzmanovic, a French politician, veteran, and reserve officer, has been actively involved in politics. He promptly joined the Left Party upon its establishment and served as a member of its national office. Later, he aligned himself with La France insoumise and played a significant role as an advisor to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, focusing on international and defense matters during the 2017 presidential campaign.
However, citing differences, he decided to leave La France insoumise in 2018 and subsequently founded his own party, Sovereign Republic, of which he now serves as the president.
In this interview, TNI Editor Aarti Tikoo engages in a discussion with George about various contemporary issues in French politics. They delve into the recent outbreak of riots in Paris, the US role in the Russia-Ukraine War, the growing immigration crisis, disagreements with the European Union, and the reasons behind George’s departure from Jean-Luc Antoine Pierre Mélenchon’s camp to establish a new political party.
Their conversation also touches upon bilateral relations with India and its growing significance in world politics.
