Star Indian cricketer and his actress wife visited Swami Dayanand Giri’s ashram in Rishikesh
Virat Kohli, who is not part of the Indian team for the New Zealand T20I series, is taking a break to rekindle his spiritual side.
Kohli, the star Indian cricketer, was seen visiting the ashram of Swami Dayanand Giri in Rishikesh along with his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, photos of which became viral on social media.
Both Kohli and Sharma were seen worshipping at the ashram. They also took part in the Ganga Maa aarti. Kohli and Sharma also took part in other public religious rituals at the Ashram. It is also learned that Kohli and Sharma organised a bhandara at the ashram.
The power couple is often seen taking their daughter Vamika along on their spiritual sojourns.
A few days ago, both Kohli and Sharma were seen in Vrindavan. The couple visited Baba Neem Karoli’s ashram along with their daughter.
It was reported that the duo spent time meditating at the ashram. They also distributed blankets at the ashram. Both Kohli and Sharma are known to be strong believers of Baba Neem Karoli.
The visit to Swami Dayanand Giri’s ashram comes days before Kohli gears up for the crucial four-Test series against Australia. The series will be crucial for India, as a series win will seal their berth in the final of the World Test Championship – most likely against the same opposition.
The one-off Championship game is scheduled to be played at The Oval in England in June.
The cricket fever had rubbed off on Sharma too, as she is all set to essay the role of Indian women’s cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the upcoming biopic titled ‘Chakda Xpress’. She was last seen in the Netflix film Qala last year, in a cameo appearance. Her last full-length film was Zero in 2018, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Kohli and Sharma tied the knot in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Italy. They welcomed their daughter Vamika on January 11, 2021.
