NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, 52, has been diagnosed with brain clots, a health condition that led to his hospitalization at Akruti Hospital in Bhiwandi, Thane. The diagnosis came after Kambli was admitted on Monday following a weekend of health complications, including complaints of urinary infections and cramps.

According to Dr. Vivek Trivedi, the medical professional overseeing Kambli’s treatment, tests confirmed the presence of clots in the brain. “Kambli’s health is under constant observation, and additional tests are scheduled for Tuesday,” Dr. Trivedi stated.

Kambli’s recent appearance at an event in Mumbai, where he joined Tendulkar to unveil a memorial for their childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar, raised concerns among the cricketing community about his health. Despite his appearance at the ceremony, observers noted his deteriorating condition. Kambli’s health issues have also sparked concern from fellow cricketers such as Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, both of whom have expressed their support and suggested that rehabilitation could benefit Kambli.

“I am grateful to these doctors who made me walk again. I still face some cramps, but I know I’m on the road to recovery,” Kambli shared with the media from his ICU bed.
