Uttarakhand: STF To Probe Two More Govt Recruitment Scams

Even as leads in the ongoing investigation by Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) related to the Uttarakhand Subordinate Selection Service Commission (UKSSSC) 2021 paper leak case pile up, the STF has also been entrusted with the probe of two more recruitment scams.

Ashok Kumar, the director general of police, said, “The STF will now investigate the secretariat guard and junior assistant (Judicial) examinations conducted earlier. The force will also investigate the Uttarakhand Forest Guard Recruitment Exam which was conducted in 2020.”

However, earlier, the gang involved in copying in the examination through Bluetooth in forest guard recruitment exam was caught by Haridwar district police from Roorkee.

Cases were registered in this recruitment scam in Haridwar and Pauri Garhwal.

Taking swift action in the investigation of UKSSSC graduate 2021 paper leak case, the STF has so far arrested 20 people.

The police have also traced 50 candidates who appeared in the exams conducted by the commission in December 2021 using the leaked paper.

The commission conducted the graduation-level examination on December 4-5, 2021 in three shifts in which about 160,000 candidates appeared and 916 candidates were selected.

So far, Rs 83 lakh in cash has been recovered as well as suspicious bank accounts used by other accused have been frozen and mobile phones and laptops seized.

However, the investigation is still going on. Several more arrests are underway in the case.

The STF is actively involved in exposing the nexus of copying mafia of Garhwal, Kumaon and Uttar Pradesh in Uttarakhand.

After exposing the ‘paper leak’ mafia of Uttarakhand as well as Uttar Pradesh, the STF will be making some shocking disclosures soon.
