Uttarakhand records 59.55% voter turnout in assembly elections

The hill state of Uttrakhand has recorded 59.55% voter turnout, across 70 constituencies of 13 districts. Haridwar district has recorded highest 68.73% voter turnout, while Almora has registered the lowest at 50.65%.

Over 82 lakh voters are choosing their representatives for the 70-member state assembly. Overall, there are 632 candidates are in the fray

The sitting Chief Minister of the state Pushkar Singh Dhami is contesting from Khatima, while the Congress old veteran Harish Rawat has chosen Lalkuan seat to contest.

The Congress is harping on the issues such as unemployment and poor COVID-19 management during the pandemic to make a comeback in the state. The surveys predict a close contest with the Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress.

Haridwar – 68.73%

Chamoli – 59.28%

Rudraprayag – 60.36%

Tehri Garhwal – 52.66%

Uttarkashi – 65.55%

Pauri Garhwal – 51.93%

Almora – 50.65%

Nainital – 63.12%

Pithoragarh – 57.49%

U S Nagar – 65.13%

Bageshwar – 57.83%

Champawat – 56.97%
