DEHRADUN: Soon, a high-technology centralised office — Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) — will have an integrated network to monitor, formulate and implement education policies in the hill state of Uttarakhand. This will apparently make the education system strong, effective and job-oriented in the state.
Uttarakhand will become the third state in the country after Gujarat and Goa, where VSK will be set up and equipped with modern technology.
“The state education department has started preliminary preparations for this. The department has already signed a contract with an IT company which will start the work of setting up a review centre in the directorate general of education within a month. The proposed centre will be ready within the next six months,” said Dhan Singh Rawat, the state education minister.
This company has earlier played an important role in setting up VSK in the states of Gujarat and Goa.
“With the aim of making the state’s education system more reliable and job-oriented by using innovation and modern technology in the field of education, VSK is being established in the state,” added Rawat.
Recently, during the conference of education ministers from all over the country held in Gujarat, the officials of the department, including the minister, visited VSK in Gujarat, along with departmental officers.
A proposal for establishment of VSK in the state has been sent to the Centre for further approval.
The Centre has approved the proposal and already released an amount of Rs 5 crore.
“I thank our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan for such a gracious approval. After the establishment of the review centre, the complete data of the department will be available online under which the details of schools, subject-wise data of teachers, details of students and resources available in the schools of the state will be available,” said Rawat.
Apart from this, officers of the government and directorate general level will be able to monitor the entire activities of any school along with online inspection through the VSK.
