Amid rising cases of COVID globally, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also took stock of COVID preparedness in the state
Uttarakhand Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhani attended a three-day event themed “Uttarakhand Police Manthan- Challenges and Solutions” being held at the police headquarters in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Thursday.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also inaugurated a police week during the Police Manthan event in Dehradun.
“Police Manthan is a very good initiative to discuss problems and find solutions. Everyone will put their points forward and will live together for a week. This will strengthen their mutual bond and cooperation. The state government will provide sufficient funds to support police operations,” CM Dhami said.
The event was attended by police officers ranging in rank from constable to Director General of Uttarkhand Police Ashok Kumar.
Talking about the event, DGP Kumar said, “This Uttarakhand Police Manthan will be held for three days. We will discuss the challenges and try to find solutions to those.”
“We have added news points this time as we will hold the Manthan with people and hear their aspirations and expectations from police. Second, we will do a vertical session in which everyone, from the constable to the DGP, will be included to make the discussion holistic,” DGP Kumar added.
“We will discuss some thrust areas that are the Chief Minister’s priority, like women’s safety, drug-free devbhoomi missions, cyber security and smart policing,” he added.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami also backed the government of India’s COVID-19 guidelines. “We have issued instructions to deal with COVID-19, and we will follow all the guidelines by the Government of India,” said Dhami.
