Biden arrives in India, to meet Modi at 8 pm today

New Delhi: US President Joe Biden has arrived in India for the G20 summit and is all set to meet Prime Minister Modi for bilateral talks at his residence at 8 pm today.

Union Minister VK Singh received US President Biden along with the first lady Jill Biden. This is the first visit of Biden to India since he assumed office last year. 

POTUS wrote on X, a social media platform, “I’m headed to the G20 – the premier forum for international economic cooperation – focused on making progress on Americans’ priorities, delivering for developing nations, and showing our commitment to the G20 as a forum that can deliver. Every time we engage, we get better.”

Modi and Biden are expected to hold talks on important global issues. Biden is expected to meet other leaders as well.

Meanwhile, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin are no show at the G20 summit.

According to the White House, the US president will follow COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during his visit for the G20 Summit.
