NEW DELHI: In the bustling heart of New York, Speaking to The New Indian Dr.Vad said “My journey into sports medicine is deeply personal.”

Inspired by his athletic family, he witnessed firsthand how injuries could derail performance. “Our family has been athletes for generations. My grandfather was an excellent tennis player, and my father, at 86, still plays tennis four days a week. I wanted to ensure that people can stay active, which drove me to specialize in sports medicine.”

His expertise caught the attention of the West Indies cricket team, and “from 1997 to 2007, I had the privilege of treating various players, including the legendary Brian Lara,  he recalls. “I took care of the West Indies fast bowlers, who often faced back issues due to the physical demands of their sport.”His treatment approach focuses not just on rehabilitation but on enhancing overall strength and mobility.

It’s designed to help anyone, from farmers in the U.S. to billionaires in India.”

Additionally, “I’ve developed a procedure called Capsule Distention to treat frozen shoulder,” he adds, highlighting a condition prevalent in many women, especially those with diabetes. “In just 20 minutes, we can significantly improve mobility and quality of life.”

Despite his impressive accomplishments, “I remain humble, always recognizing the opportunities presented by New York’s medical landscape,” Dr. Vad notes. “Working at a prestigious institution like the Hospital for Special Surgery has been a privilege. It allows us to provide top-tier care, and I learn from professional athletes every day.”
