New Delhi: A female UPSC aspirant, who was staging a protest outside Rau’s Academy where three students had drowned to death, has alleged she was cyber-molested, bullied, and cyber-mentally harassed for raising her voice for the deceased students. She has complained to a Telegram channel named “UPSC Student Union 1” and its admin.
According to her complaint, it is a case of digital molestation, harassment, and cyberbullying. The New Indian has accessed the complaint copy in which the victim narrated her ordeal. The victim is currently living in Old Rajendra Nagar. She is a student at a private academy and is preparing for the UPSC exams.
She was heartbroken after learning about the deaths of three UPSC aspirants. She decided to stage a protest against Rau’s Academy, the state government, and the MCD to seek justice for the victims. “As the protest escalated, my videos went viral on different social media platforms. Then a few people spread my photos with a hate message on the Telegram channel to malign my image,” her complaint read.
“I am a student who wants to fight for justice. However, the people who were after me spread that I was not a student and hijacked the protest,” she said. The victim further stated that she went viral again on social media due to her meetings with MCD officials. She decided to call off her hunger strike, which provoked her haters. They accused her of being a puppet of politicians.

“This time, hatred turned into slut-shaming, cat-calling, and cyberbullying,” her complaint read. The victim has now lodged a complaint with the Rajendra Nagar Police Station against the admin of the Telegram channel on which her photo with a derogatory message was being spread.
The police have received the complaint, but as of now, they have not lodged any FIR. The police are taking legal opinion on the matter.
