UPSC Mains Result 2024: Steps to fill Civil Services DAF 2 and key tips

NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to release the list of candidates who have qualified the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024.The UPSC Mains result 2024 will be available on upsconline.nic.in, where candidates can check their selection status.

Candidates who clear the Mains will proceed to the Personality Test, tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2025. Prior to the interview, qualified candidates are required to complete the Detailed Application Form-II (DAF-II) on the official website, upsc.gov.in.

What is UPSC DAF-II?

The Detailed Application Form-II (DAF-II) is a crucial step in the UPSC Civil Services Examination process. The information provided in this form serves as the foundation for the Personality Test, as the interview panel bases its questions on the details entered by candidates. Aspirants are advised to fill out the form carefully, ensuring accuracy and honesty, as any discrepancies may lead to disqualification.

The DAF-II also requires candidates to indicate their preferences for Zones and State Cadres for IAS and IPS services. It is important for candidates to review the Cadre Allocation Policy-2017, available on the Department of Personnel and Training website (cseplus.nic.in/Home/CadreAllocation), before finalizing their preferences. Once submitted, no changes to cadre preferences will be allowed.

Steps to Fill UPSC DAF-II

The DAF-II includes ten modules, such as personal information, educational background, service preferences, and more. Candidates can complete the process by following these steps:
1. Visit the UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
2. Click on the “UPSC CSE 2024 DAF-II” link.
3. Log in using your credentials.
4. Fill in the details carefully in each section and upload the required documents.
5. Submit the form and save a printout for future reference.

Once the DAF-II is submitted, candidates should prepare for the Personality Test, the final and most decisive stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
