LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath Cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to establish 18 new Nagar panchayats and expand 20 existing urban civic bodies in Uttar Pradesh.
Lalganj, Pratapgarh, Manikpur, Bhagwant Nagar, Unnao, Malihabad, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Amroha are among the civic bodies whose limits will be expanded.
A total of 55 proposals were approved at the Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to sanction Rs 68.83 crores to promote natural farming in all 47 development blocks in seven districts of the Bundelkhand region, the state government said.
The government has also decided to grant a fellowship of Rs 20,000 per month to one researcher each in 100 ambitious blocks under the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme. A tablet computer will also be provided to every researcher.
It also approved plans to select a consultant who will prepare a five-year roadmap and vision document to achieve the target of making the state economy worth USD 1 trillion.
To check accidents related to boilers, the government has altered its boiler policy. Transporting boilers without permission will now be a punishable offence.
