Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow on February 10.

Addressing the gathering at the flagship investment summit of the UP government, PM Modi welcomed the investor community, industry leaders and policymakers to collectively explore business opportunities and forge partnerships.

During the program, PM Modi also inaugurated the Global Trade Show and launched Invest UP 2.0.

PM Modi, who is also an MP from UP, observed a significant shift in the government’s thinking in UP in order to ensure ease of doing business. “Today UP has become a source of hope and inspiration,” PM Modi remarked.

He underlined that UP has become a bright spot for the nation, just like India has become a bright spot on the global stage. He said, “Every citizen of the country wants to tread the path of development and wishes to witness a ‘Viksit Bharat’.”

“Today, India is carrying out reforms not out of compulsion, but out of conviction. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a champion when it comes to developing a new value and supply chain. With the resolve of the double-engine government and possibilities of Uttar Pradesh, there cannot be a better partnership than this,” he said during his address.

PM Modi emphasised that the land of UP is known for its cultural splendour, glorious history and rich heritage. Noting the capabilities of the state, the PM called attention to the unwanted tags attached to the state, such as underdeveloped, BIMARU and the poor law and order situation attached to the state.

PM Modi also mentioned the scams worth thousands of crores that were unearthed in the past. PM Modi said, “Within 5-6 years (of BJP government), Uttar Pradesh has established a new identity. Now, Uttar Pradesh is known for good governance, a better law and order situation, peace and stability.”

“New opportunities for wealth creators are being made here,” the Prime Minister added.

PM Modi also stated that initiatives to improve infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh are bearing fruit. He said very soon, UP will be known as the only state with five international airports. The freight corridor will connect the state directly with the sea coast in Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, said, “This year’s budget has laid the foundation for India’s emergence as a developed nation. The greater allocation for CapEx expenditure will lead to greater economic growth and social welfare.”

Praising the leadership of PM Modi, Ambani said, “Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country has transformed a great deal. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister’s vision and a laser-sharp focus on execution, a bold new India is taking shape.”

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, echoed the sentiments, saying, “India is demonstrating remarkable entrepreneurial dynamism and innovation,” and credited the Prime Minister with infusing new energy into the country’s economic landscape.

Talking about PM Modi’s focus on 360-degree development, the Chairman of Tata Sons, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, said, “The visionary leadership of the Prime Minister has created a situation where India is going to be the fastest-growing economy. It is not only economic growth, what the Prime Minister has enabled is 360-degree development.”

Chairman of Dixon Technologies, Sunil Vachani, said that almost 65 per cent of the mobile phones sold in India are manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. He credited the dynamic policies of the UP government for making it a manufacturing hub.
