NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has launched an investigation to determine the route taken by Pakistani woman Seema Haider to enter India along with her four children for an Indian man she fell in love online even as policemen stand guard outside their home in Greater Noida.
Seema Haider, aged 27, claims to have entered India through Nepal, specifically via Pokhara. She traveled to Rabupura village in Greater Noida by a private bus.
Currently residing with Sachin, who works in a general store, and his family in Rabupura, Seema, Sachin, and her father-in-law Netrapal were arrested two weeks ago by the Uttar Pradesh Police under the Foreigners Act for illegal entry into India.
According to the Noida Police, several passports, including Seema’s and her children’s, along with documents related to Pakistani citizenship, were recovered. All these documents and her four mobile phones have been handed over to the UP ATS, as confirmed by sources from the Noida Police.
Meanwhile, Seema’s first husband, Ghulam Haider, has appealed to her to return to Pakistan, promising to treat her properly. In a video message from Karachi, Pakistan, Haider apologized to Seema.
However, security agencies have not given Seema a clean chit as she claims to have come to India solely for her love, Sachin, whom she wishes to marry.
A week ago, Seema told The New Indian that she would never return to Pakistan as she had never received love and respect from her husband. She expressed her preference for death over going back to Pakistan.
At their village Rabupura, common people and media persons continue to gather outside their house to interact with the Pakistani woman and take selfies with her and her children.
The influx of people from neighboring villages and districts has grown so much that the Greater Noida administration had to intervene by deploying personnel to manage the crowd at their residence.
At times, the crowd becomes overwhelming, leading the police to restrict entry to the house. The police are also on high alert due to videos surfacing on social media, where a group based in Pakistan threatens Seema for moving to India.
