Union Home Minister chairs high-level J&K security review meeting in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi today.

The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, senior Army officers including Chief of Army Staff (Designate) Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, Director General of CAPFs, Chief Secretary, DGP of J&K, and other senior officers.

Amit Shah directed security agencies to replicate the successes achieved in Kashmir Valley through the Area Domination Plan and Zero Terror Plan in the Jammu division. He asserted that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is committed to cracking down on terrorists through innovative means. Union Home Minister instructed all security agencies to work in a mission mode and ensure a quick, coordinated response.

He stated that the fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is in its decisive phase, highlighting that recent incidents show terrorism has been forced to shrink from highly organized acts of violence to a mere proxy war. Shah emphasized the determination to root it out completely.

Union Home Minister called for seamless coordination among security agencies, the identification of vulnerable areas, and addressing their security concerns. Reiterating the Zero Tolerance Policy against terrorism, he assured that the government, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, will leave no stone unturned in eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.

He also noted the significant reduction in terror-related incidents in Kashmir Valley, attributing this to the efforts of the Government of India. This improvement in law and order is reflected in the record flow of tourists in the region.

Amit Shah commended the security agencies and the J&K administration for the successful conduct of Lok Sabha elections, which saw a record voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir.
