Udaipur Horror Case: NIA Makes 7th Arrest; Says Accused Took Active Part In Conspiracy

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday said that it has arrested Farhad Mohammad Sheikh aka Babla, who was a close associate of the main accused in connection with the gruesome murder of Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur.

An NIA spokesperson here said that the anti-terror probe agency sleuths on Friday arrested Sheikh, who was a close associate of Riyaz Attari, one of the two Muslim men who murdered Teli at his shop in the Maldas area of the city on June 28.

The official said that Sheikh took an active part in the conspiracy to kill Teli.

This is the seventh arrest in the murder case. Besides Attari, the Rajasthan police arrested Ghous Mohammad on June 28 from the Rajsamand area.

Attari and Ghous had recorded the murder of Teli and also recorded their confessional statement while brandishing their blood-soaked weapon. The duo also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The NIA took over the case after the Union ministry of home affairs asked the agency to probe the murder incident.
