Tunisha suicide: Mother demands punishment for Sheezan Khan

Tunisha’s last rites were performed today. Her mother was inconsolable. The last rites were performed by actors Kanwar Dhillon and Shivin Narang.

Even as family members and friends of Tunisha Sharma gathered to bid her adieu and perform her last rites at a Mira Road crematorium, police continued to question ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan to find out the real reason behind the television actor’s death. Khan was arrested on the complaint of Tunisha’s mother Vineeta Sharma, who told Waliv Police that her daughter was driven to death by her boyfriend.

Sharma in her media interactions said that her daughter was promised marriage by Khan and that he cheated on her with other women. In a video message she said, “I want to tell everyone, Sheezan betrayed Tunisha. He got into a relationship with her, promised her marriage and then broke up with her. He was already with a girl when he involved Tunisha in a relationship. He used her for three to four months. All I want is he should be punished. Sheezan ko mat chorna. I have lost my child,” she said.

Khan was arrested by Waliv police on December 25 . Waliv police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against him.

Tunisha’s mother has told the police that her daughter was not happy in the relationship and that could be the reason why she decided to end her life. Her cell phone has been taken into custody by the cops.

Meanwhile, several celebrities were part of  Tunisha’s final journey. Actors Shivin Narang, Avneet Kaur, Sayantani Ghosh and Sharib Hashmi were spotted at Tunisha’s home. Tunisha’s last rites were performed at Goddev Shamshan Bhumi in Mira Raod at around 4.30 pm. Her mother was inconsolable. The last rites were performed by actors Kanwar Dhillon and Shivin Narang.

The 21-year-old actress, who featured in the Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul alongside ex-boyfriend and co-star Khan, hanged herself inside a makeup room in Naigaon – the sets of her show. The make-up room belonged to Khan. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her “brought dead”. Some friends of the actor said that she suffered from anxiety and depression.

The tragic death of the actress also took political colour with BJP leader Kapil Mishra connecting it with the Shraddha Aaftab  case,” Shraddha, Uma, Tunisha Sharma…everyday we are losing our daughters. We have to take immediate measures for discussion, dialogue, awareness and prevention on Love Jihad across the country. daughters have to be saved”
