NEW DELHI: The Acharya Chanakya Educational Foundation has raised serious objections to Uber India’s alleged endorsement of gambling applications like 1xBet through advertisements displayed on taxis affiliated with its fleet associates, including Everest Fleet Pvt. Ltd.
In a strongly worded communiqué to Uber India’s Country Director, Yashovardhan Sharma, the Foundation’s Secretary underscored the negative repercussions of such promotions, especially with the Indian Premier League (IPL) approaching. Sharma cautioned that endorsing unlawful betting platforms not only fosters illegal practices but also endangers the psychological and financial stability of countless young Indians.

“A company of Uber’s reputation must refrain from supporting initiatives that threaten the nation’s future. This influence will not only devastate millions of families but will also push the country’s youth toward an irreversible downward spiral,” Sharma asserted.
The letter demanded that Uber India immediately discontinue all advertising related to betting applications. The Foundation warned that non-compliance would lead to a peaceful demonstration at Uber’s headquarters on March 24, followed by legal proceedings and extensive media coverage.
The Acharya Chanakya Educational Foundation expects Uber India to act responsibly in safeguarding the interests of India’s youth.
Uber has yet to issue an official response.
