NEW DELHI: Toonsutra, India’s leading comic app, has successfully raised $3.2 million in a new seed funding round, reinforcing its position in the country’s rapidly growing digital entertainment sector.

The investment round was led by Germany’s Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, a global leader in science, education, and literature, with additional participation from venture funds GMJP, T-Accelerate, Google, and Graphic India, India’s premier original comic and animation studio.

The funding will help Toonsutra accelerate its growth as the No.1 comic app in India, a status it has maintained on both Apple and Android platforms for over ten months, boasting more than two million downloads to date.

Founded by Sharad Devarajan and Vishal Anand, the platform leverages decades of expertise in startup innovation, comics, animation, and digital media to redefine the Indian webtoon market.
