AHMADABAD: India’s second-richest man Gautam Adani led over a thousand Adani Group employees in performing Yoga on Tuesday, giving a clarion call for practising mindfulness and meditation.
As he performed asanas at Adani Shantigram alongside his wife and Adani Foundation chairperson Priti Adani, the Adani Group chief said everybody should practice yoga for a healthier nation.
Adani Group has organised yoga sessions at several of its offices and residential campuses across the country on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga.
Earlier, the Adani Foundation, which works in 2409 villages across 16 states to provide quality education, impart skill development training, and infrastructure development, led a yoga tour across 75 iconic sites in Gujarat. The tour is one of the initiatives of the Adani Foundation as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The yoga yatra covers 75 heritage, tourist, archaeological sites and landmark architectural sites across the western coastal state. These sites reflect the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of Gujarat.
The foundation has also filmed yoga performances across the state in form of short videos to showcase the benefits of yoga in the backdrop of Gujarat’s unique culture, history, architectural marvels, natural eco-system and diverse geography, it said in a statement.
It has also released a song ‘Yog Karo’, which has been created by music composer duo Sachin-Jigar and sung by Shankar Mahadevan to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga.
