During his speech, he acknowledged the significant momentum in the bilateral relationship between India and the United States and urged the diaspora audience to capitalize on this positive trajectory. He emphasized the fruitful outcomes of the recent agreements announced between the two nations, spanning various sectors such as defense, healthcare, climate, and emerging technologies. PM Modi highlighted that the India-U.S. relationship goes beyond mere convenience; it is a “partnership of conviction” that enjoys bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress.
Furthermore, PM Modi showcased the benefits of defense deals with India for several U.S. states and emphasized the potential of the Indian economy, its young population, and the aspirations of its people. He noted the remarkable progress in reducing extreme poverty and the growth of the middle class in India. Encouraging the business community, PM Modi stressed the importance of the India-U.S. partnership for the interests of both countries and their people. He emphasized that the groundwork has been laid by the governments, and now it is up to the business community to seize the opportunities presented.
He actively engaged with the Indian diaspora and business leaders to promote India’s economic prospects and encourage investments in the country. Addressing a gathering at the prestigious Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, PM Modi praised the Indian diaspora for exemplifying the American dream and achieving remarkable success.
The event at the Kennedy Centre featured prominent attendees, including U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, USISPF Chairman John Chambers, and USISPF CEO Mukesh Aghi. Notable figures in the audience included External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and India’s U.S. Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Following the Kennedy Center event, PM Modi participated in another diaspora event at the Reagen Center. Expressing his gratitude and summarizing the visit, he tweeted, “Concluding a very special USA visit. Our nations will keep working together to make our planet a better place for the coming generations.”
