NEW DELHI: All Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members will be presented with an array of gifts when they enter the new parliament building on Tuesday.
The gifts, packed in jute bags, will be awaiting the lawmakers on the sidewalk of the hallowed grounds of the parliament.
Inside the bags, they will find a pocket copy of the Constitution of India, a stamp depicting both the new and old parliament buildings, a commemorative coin of the Indian parliament, a book containing the names of all members of parliament (past and present), and a booklet containing details of the new parliament complex, with introductory notes from President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

The gifts are a thoughtful gesture to mark the transition to the new parliament building, which is a symbol of India’s democracy and its commitment to democratic values. The Constitution of India is the supreme law of the land, and it is fitting that each MP receives a copy of it as they move into the new parliament building.
The stamp and commemorative coin are unique souvenirs that will commemorate this historic occasion. The book of MPs and the booklet on the new parliament complex are valuable resources that will help MPs learn more about the history and significance of the parliament and its new home.

The gifts are also a reminder of the important work that MPs do. They are elected by the people to represent their interests and to make laws that govern the country. The new parliament building is a state-of-the-art facility that will provide MPs with the resources and support they need to carry out their duties effectively.
Among the important bills that will be discussed during this session are the Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, the Post Office Bill, and the Bill to regulate the tenure of the Election Commissioner.
