The 12506 North East Express train has been derailed near Raghunathpur railway station in the Buxar district of Bihar at around 9.35 pm on Wednesday, October 11.
Several trains have been cancelled and diverted after more than 12 coaches of the 12506 Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed. As per reports, four people have lost their lives with more than 50 injured.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that rescue operations were completed. “Will find the root cause of derailment,” he said on X, even as he expressed condolences for the loss of lives.
The 12506 Down Northeast Express, which departed from Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi at 7:45 a.m., was on its way to Kamakhya Junction in Assam’s Guwahati.
About 1300 passengers were from Assam and the rest of Northeast India. About 540 were from Assam and so far there are no reported deaths. A relief train was sent and the passengers are set to reach Kamakhya station by 11 pm tonight.
In an official statement, the East Central Railway zone said that trains that have been cancelled include: Patna-Puri Special (03230), Sasaram-Ara Special (03620), Bhabua Road Express Special (03617), Patna–DDU Memu Pass Spl (03203), Patna-Buxar Memu Pass Special (03375). Besides, two trains have been partially cancelled and they include Patna-DDU Express (13209) which will run up to Ara and DDU-Patna Express (13210), which will also run up to Ara.
