Terrorists killed a migrant worker while injuring another in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Continuing their heinous act of targeting the civilians, the terrorists on Thursday killed a migrant worker while injuring another in yet another terror attack in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The deceased has been identified as Dilkhush Kumar who hails from Bihar, while his fellow worker Guri from Punjab is said to be stable. Both of them are employed in a brick kiln in Magraypora in the Budgam district.

According to police, one of the labourers received a bullet wound in the hand while the other was hit in the neck. Both were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, however, one among them succumbed.

“At about 2120hrs (9.20 pm), Police received information about a terror crime incident at Magraypora Chadoora area of Budgam where terrorists had fired upon two outside labourers. Senior police officers along with reinforcement reached the terror crime spot,” police said in a release.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that terrorists had indiscriminately fired upon two outside labourers identified as Dilkhush Kumar, son of Narayan Reshi Dev and resident of Purnia Bihar, and Guri from Punjab working in a brick kiln. In this terror crime incident, the duo had received critical gunshot injuries and were immediately shifted to the hospital for the treatment of their injuries. However, one of the injured Dilkhush has succumbed to his injuries whereas; the condition of the other injured is stated to be stable,” it added.

This is the second attack on civilians on Thursday. Earlier in the morning, terrorists killed Vijay Kumar, who hails from Rajasthan and worked as the manager of the Kulgam branch of Elaqahi Dehati Bank, in yet another targeted attack on the minority Hindu community. Kumar was attacked by terrorists in the morning in the Arreh area of the district.

Meanwhile, the district administration Ganderbal on Thursday appointed Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Irfan Ahmad Giri as Nodal Officer for redressal of grievances of Migrant, ALC, SC, Prime Minister Package, Non-Prime Minister Package employees in the district.

 

 

The order reads that the Nodal Officer shall reach out to the grievances and other issues of these employees and shall appraise the undersigned on daily basis.
