Terrorists Killed Bank Manager in Kulgam

SRINAGAR: In yet another targeted attack on the members of the minority Hindu community in the Kashmir valley, the terrorists killed a bank manager in the Kulgam district on Thursday.

Vijay Kumar, who hails from Rajasthan, worked as the manager of the Kulgam branch of Elaqahi Dehati Bank. He was attacked by terrorists in the morning in the Arreh area of the district.

Kumar was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, doctors at the Kulgam district hospital declared him brought dead.

Soon after the attack the whole area was cordoned off to nab the attackers, the police said.

“#terrorists fired upon a bank employee (manager) at Ellaqie Dehati Bank at Areh Mohanpora in #Kulgam district. He received grievous gunshot injuries in this terror incident. He is a resident of Hanumangarh Rajasthan. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow.@JmuKmrPolice (sic),” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The incident took place two days after a Hindu school teacher named Rajni Bala was shot dead by terrorists in Gopalpora in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

Besides Bala, a TV actor named Amreen Bhat was also shot dead while her nephew was injured in Budgam district on May 25.

On May 12, Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri pandit, was shot dead outside the tehsil office in Chadoora town of Budgam.
