SRINAGAR : In a significant counter-insurgency breakthrough, security forces have dismantled a terrorist hideout deep within the Sanglan forest region of Uttersoo in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials reported on Monday.

According to an official statement, a combined team comprising the Special Operations Group (SOG) Anantnag, 19 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a coordinated search mission in the rugged forested terrain based on precise intelligence inputs. The operation led to the discovery of a well-concealed hideout believed to have served as a logistical base for terrorists.

Security forces seized a range of materials from the site, including approximately 200 spent AK-series cartridges, two gas cylinders, a Chinese-made grenade, a night vision device (NVD), bedding, kitchen utensils, and multiple food packets.

Officials emphasized that the recovered items underscore the hideout’s role in sustaining terrorist operations in the region.

A police spokesperson stated that this successful mission highlights the relentless efforts of the security agencies in their campaign to curb terrorism and ensure public safety.

Authorities have urged residents to remain watchful and promptly report any suspicious activities to aid in maintaining security and stability in the area.
