PFI Module Case: NIA Searches 38 Locations, Seizes ₹8.32L, Detains 4

NIA carried out searches at more than 23 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Cracking its whip on the terror modules, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday carried out searches at more than 38 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in connection with the PFI module case.

The central agency also detained four persons and seized ₹8.31 lakh following its searches.

An NIA spokesperson said that the anti-terror probe agency is carrying out searches at multiple locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in a case registered against PFI cadres in Nizamabad by Telangana Police on July 4, which was later taken over by it on August 26 this year.

The official said that the NIA conducted searches at 38 locations in Telangana – 23 in Nizamabad, four in Hyderabad, seven in Jagityal, two in Nirmal, one each in Adilabad and Karimnagar districts, and at two locations in Andhra Pradesh, one each in Kurnool and Nellore districts in the case relating to one Abdul Khader of Nizamabad District, Telangana and 26 other persons.

The official said that the accused were “organising camps for imparting training to commit terrorist acts” and promoting enmity between different groups based on religion.

“During the searches conducted by NIA today, incriminating materials, including digital devices, documents, two daggers, cash ₹8.31 lakh, etc., have been seized,” the official said.

The official said that four people had been detained for questioning.

Earlier, during investigations by the police, four accused – Abdul Kader, Sheikh Sahadulla, Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Abdul Mobin were arrested by Telangana Police.
