TENNESSEE, USA: With the U.S. presidential election looming, Tennessee voters like Robert, a medical industry worker, share their views on candidates and key issues.
Rohan Dua of The New Indian stops in the landlocked state of Tennessee to capture the mood of its electorate. Robert, interviewed by Rohan Dua of The New Indian, expressed distrust toward President Joe Biden, calling him “a strange old man.”
Robert’s opinion seemed partly influenced by a Halloween image of Biden with a child, which he found creepy. He told The New Indian, “He’s a strange old man. I saw his Halloween thing with the baby, but I don’t think he’s got an ear. He’s got no ball.”

The voter also touched on broader concerns voiced by some voters, including allegations of increased crime and illegal immigration, issues often directed at the Biden-Harris administration.
“I don’t know, the border stuff seems like a lot of just campaign policy to run on, there’s been a lot of campaign talk about border policy,” he said. When asked if he would vote for Kamala he showed partial agreement saying, “Maybe”.
Later he also highlighted that a bipartisan policy proposal was blocked by Republicans during election season, seeing it as a lost opportunity for meaningful progress on immigration. For Robert and many Tennesseans, issues of border control, crime, and character judgments remain top of mind as they prepare to vote.
