Team XSpark’s golden year: BMPS 2024 Champions

Team XSpark wins BMPS 2024 becomes the only team to win two official events in a year.

NEW DELHI: In a historic run, Team XSpark emerged as the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 champions, held on September 29, 2024. Following their BGIS 2024 victory in June, the Shadow-led squad claimed their second major title of the year, becoming the first team in BGMI history to win two official events in a single calendar year.

Team XSpark delivered a commanding performance in the Grand Finals, racking up 158 points across 18 matches. With four Chicken Dinners and an impressive 102 kills, the team dominated the final two days of the tournament. The standout player, Sarang, was named Finals MVP, while SprayGod was honoured as the MVP of BMPS 2024. The team took home a prize of ₹75 lakh, 37.5% of the total prize pool.

The Grand Finals, held in Kochi, Kerala, saw a thrilling conclusion as XSpark overcame a slow start on Day 1. The team gained momentum on Day 2, securing over 80 points in just six matches, including three WWCDs (Winner Winner Chicken Dinners). On the final day, XSpark held their ground in the decisive last match, with Joker and SprayGod making a crucial stand in the “god building” after eliminating Team Ignite in a drop clash.

XSpark’s roster, featuring Shadow, SprayGod, Joker, and Sarang, has been praised for their synergy, with team captain Tenzin “Shadow” Kelsang now recognized as one of the best in-game leaders (IGLs) in BGMI history. Newcomer Joker also made a strong impression with his stellar gameplay.

Numen Forever finished as the tournament’s runners-up with 145 points, while Godlike Esports, who led the standings after Day 2, ended up in third place with 144 points. Godlike Esports, featuring notable players like Jonathan, Admino, Punk, and Simp, faltered in the final match after losing three players in a clash with Hyderabad Hydras, missing their chance to claim the title.

Team XSpark’s back-to-back victories have cemented their place as one of BGMI’s top-performing teams, with fans eagerly anticipating their next move.
