In the emotional clip, Manav is seen pleading for more attention to be given to the struggles of men, blaming his wife for his decision

NEW DELHI: In a tragic incident, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee Manav Sharma, 27, died by suicide on February 24, allegedly due to harassment by his wife, Nikita Sharma.

His body was found hanging in his home in Agra.

Before taking the extreme step, Manav recorded a poignant video, which was discovered by his family after his death.

In the emotional clip, he is seen pleading for more attention to be given to the struggles of men, blaming his wife for his decision, and apologizing to his parents.

According to the police, Sharmaโ€™s family initially tried to file a complaint with the Sadar Police, but were reportedly turned away due to Maha Shivratri duties.

The matter was escalated to the Chief Ministerโ€™s portal, after which a case was registered. The investigation is now underway, based on the complaint received via WhatsApp.

In the heart-wrenching video, Sharma addresses law enforcement, saying, โ€œSo, this is for the authorities. Authorities as in police and law enforcementโ€ฆ The law needs to protect men, or otherwise there will come a time when there will be no men left. No man on whom you can shift blameโ€ฆโ€

He goes on to explain that his marriage fell apart after discovering his wifeโ€™s alleged infidelity. Despite the pain, he expresses a desire to go back home, asking people to think about the loneliness men endure. โ€œSomeone please talk about men. They are very lonely,โ€ he says tearfully in the video.

Manav further shares that he had attempted suicide multiple times before, showing scars on his wrist from past attempts. โ€œI have always been a quitter.

I have attempted suicide multiple times,โ€ he says. In his final moments, he urges his family not to blame his parents for his death. โ€œDonโ€™t touch my parents,โ€ he adds.

Manavโ€™s wife, Nikita, has denied the allegations of harassment, offering a different account of their troubled marriage. She claimed that Manav turned to alcohol and became violent and argumentative after learning about her past.

She said she had tried to seek help, even saving him from suicide on three occasions, but their relationship continued to deteriorate. After his death, Nikita alleges that her in-laws blamed her for his suicide and even threw her out of their home.

The police have yet to make any arrests. According to Agraโ€™s ASP Vinayak Gopal, the investigation suggests a strained relationship between the couple may have led to Sharmaโ€™s tragic decision.

The police recovered the video from Manavโ€™s locked phone, which revealed his emotional distress.

Manav Sharmaโ€™s death has left his family and friends in shock, raising concerns about the pressures faced by men in troubled relationships.

As the investigation continues, authorities are looking into all angles to understand the full circumstances surrounding his suicide.
