India is set to make history with the launch of the Rugby Premier League (RPL), the world’s first franchise-based Rugby 7s league, taking place in Mumbai from June 1-15, 2025. Organized by Rugby India and GMR Sports, RPL will feature six city-based teams, top international rugby stars, and elite Indian talent. With 34 matches broadcast live on Star Sports and JioHotstar, the league aims to revolutionize rugby in India and provide a global platform for the country’s emerging players.
