Champai Soren, a senior leader in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), previously held significant portfolios such as welfare and transport in the state. Soren is one of the founding members of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha along with Hemant Soren's father, Shibu Soren.
