The Bihar Caste census, hyped as the 'Brahmastra' to confront the seemingly invincible Modi-Shah duo, has ended up undermining Nitish Kumar's trust and credibility among influential caste groups in the state, thus exposing the flaws in the policy and acting as a deterrent for other states to follow into his footsteps

Code number 25 has been assigned to chief minister Nitish Kumar’s caste, Kumri, while 167 has been kept reserved for the Yadavas – the powerful caste deputy CM and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav hails from.

The Bihar government plans to use this data to base its development plans on.
