India's criminal justice system has undergone a complete overhaul today, with the introduction of three new laws replacing the colonial-era statutes.  The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam have replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act respectively.
